Default Secondary Springs

When everybody mentions the infamous "Black Spring" which is it that poeple are talking about. The EPI or the Dalton. Now I can get a an EPI black spring for what I think is a dirt cheap $35.00 locally. I guess what i'm wondering is shoudl I go for it? What are the performance differences between the two?

The way I understand it is that it just raises engagement RPM a little so as to help turn my brand new 27" 589's. Is that correct?

Oh and kinda off topic but I'm still looking for a supplier for an ignition module here in canada... any ideas?

Thanks All!

The secondary spring offered by Dalton and EPI is basically the same spring. It's not really a performance spring, as the main performance-enhancing springs are the primaries. It's used to extend belt-life and reduce slippage. Dalton has a pretty good combination on their Prairie clutch kit. The Dalton secondary along with their Plain/White Primary makes for a boost in mid-range without being a very high engaging spring.

I was talking to dalton the other day and they don't make a black spring for our bikes,it is meant for a pullarse. The kit they figure I should have is a blue primary and a purple/plain secondary,75 bucks Canadian. They are just down the road from me so I will be getting it soon.
