i was just looking around at different atv sites and i found one. it had an artical from Dirtwheels, issue: june 1987.(this was a tecate-4
site) i started reading they article it was about a 87lt250r, tecate-4, and a trx250r they were doing a shoot out and they raced 3 times around they're 5 mile test course. the first race the lt250r finished 1# tecate 2# and trx250r #. the second race the trx250r 1# lt250r 2# and tecate
3#. but the last race the tecate was 1# trx250r 2#
and the lt250r was 3#. it may have been 1 rider that just was better because no quad was ever finished in the same position. the site was http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Dunes/6243/ultimate.htm.

Hey, I think they need to do a shoot out between the Raptor, DS 650, Tecate-4, 250R, LT 250, Banshee, and Quadzilla, if it would be possible to find mint condition stock rides. You know the manufactures have enough left over parts to build at least one stock machine for the models out of production. But, my main concern is which is the quickest and the fastest mph. But it would be nice to see how all have compare.

 

I raced a tecate 4 on my 250r before.I found a pic of it on the web.It is the exact same one I e-amiled the guy and asked him if he remembered me and he said yeah.Anyway I always won.We where racing in sand and niether of us had paddles.My 250R had a wiseco piston,boyesen reeds,ported but I still had the stock pipe.I beat him 4 times.My dad has a 87 LT500R with a wiseco .080 piston,ram valve,FMF gold series fatty pipe,power core 2 silencer and it is ported.It really flies and that tecate was no where close as fast.

 

hay jeepin that guys tecate must not have been set up right cuz my tecate kicks lots of hondas ... every race im in .

 

I beleive U.Neither one of us was hooking up till 3 gear.He had some kind of tires that looked fairly bald and I had brand new holeshot mx's.The guy had a fmf pipe and silencer but said the piston was worn.I beleive him though beacause I have rode a tecate 3 and it was scary fast and it was all stock.
