That is one fine Mojave.

Any chance you could describe how to make that intake for the FCR in more detail when you get a chance?

I know I speak for many others....thanks for your advice on the forum.......

i'll try. It is made from a intake hose from a ford f350 truck with a 7.8 liter engine. There are two hoses on the truck that go from the air box to the engine plenum. They are just alike, and are 3 inches on one end and about 2 1/8 or so (just about right to fit the carb) on the other end. they have a s shaped bend. I went to the junk yard and bought both hoses off a wrecked truck so I had enough to make two setups.

you will also need a short peice of 3 inch metal pipe, i used a four inch long section of 3 inch exhaust pipe from a muffler shop (out of the scrap pile for free).

the other thing you need is a filter with a 3 inch opening(a 300 ex filter is what I used)

you will also need a short peice of 2 1/4 inch thin wall exhaust pipe (pep boys has the thin stuff)

The s bend of the ford pipe is too long so it will have to be cut and peiced together (2 peices) to make the intake tube. You will have to spend some time measuring and fitting to get the two peices to butt up to each other while they fit on the carb and where the big end needs to be for the air filter after it snakes around the shock. Mark the two at one point where they meet together. Then stick the 2 1/4 pipe inside the two between them to splice them together. you could use hose clamps on them but that would make 4 hose clamps in all and look kinda bad. so i used black colered 3M weatherstrip adhesive and glued the metal pipe into both sides while lining up the marks. Then use the glue on the outside around the seam. Just to make sure I had a good seal I cut a peice of bicycle inner tube and stretched it over the joint on the outside with more 3M adhesive under it. let it dry overnight.

then just clamp the hose on the carb and the three inch pipe with hose clamps (one is made onto the ford hose on each end making it really neat, but I had to cut the one on the small end off to shorten the pipe). Then clamp the filter on the 3 inch pipe.

I welded a stud to the 3 inch pipe that bolts to a bracket that was already on the frame to secure the rear part of the setup but you could just use zip ties if you wanted.

I don't mean to be a bother, but I have two questions. Where did you relocate the coolant bottle and where did you put the ignition?

1). He removed/eliminated the coolant overflow bottle.
2). The ignition is now his kill/tether switch. He removed the key switch, but probably wired the kill switch
into it.

Hope this helps!!

How do you remove it, just fill the radiator and plug the hole where it hooks into the coolant bottle? Do you think I would be able to just unplug the ignition and it would still work or would I have to do somthing else?

Addict,

Excellent, Excellent job!!!

A very nice machine you have constructed. Some people don't understand why we mess with the "little" quads, and try to make them sweet...but I'm sure when someone askes you "What quad is that?!" and you tell them it's a mojave.....there's like no better feeling!.........or at least thats my theory....

A VERY GOOD JOB!....that is DEDICATION!
you should be working at a dealership to be honest.....you could make some money with your skills....lol
but good job, great lookin racer

~CHRIS~
