Default Truckbed project (for ATV)

Sorry about the poor picture I always seem to finish this cr@p at night.

My truckbed for my Nissan Frontier was exactly the wrong size for my V. The wheels would just barely sit on the wheel wells (but not firmly), it would slip in between and damage the wells. Off center didn't work, so I decide to fix this once and for all. I made all new wells with ramps. Now the wheels sit firmly on top with no chance of damage and it's MUCH easily to get that huge friggen bike in there.

Anyway, here's my project. I am going out of town for 2 weeks, when I get back the whole truckbed is going to get one of those spray in bed liners.

Looks like you did some really nice work on those ramps. Did you cover the original wheelwells or remove them? Have you considered putting some doors on the outside of the truck to make tool/storage boxes ahead of the wheels? There are marine doors that are waterproof and lockable available from Bass Pro and Cabela's that would work really well. I may have to copy your idea.

I have a Nissan shortbed, there is no "ahead" of the wheels. I welded straight on to the stock wells. I bought a few sheets of 16g steel, cut out some flats and then cut my own supports to be welded under the flat right to the wheel well. Then I used angle bar to reinforce the ramps and the sides of the new wells. Right now I've got it painted with some cheap spray paint just to protect it from water but the sprayon bed will seal it all up real nice.

After the spray on bedliner I'm done. I mean it's a very small area to work with.
