stupid plastic
I think if you try a search you'll find quite a few good suggestions on proper fender trimming. Many of them will inlcude use of a RotoZip, Sawzall, Cutting wheel, files, sandpaper, etc. I believe once you trace a pattern on the fender (sharpie?), you just follow your trace with cutting tool of choice. After, smooth the plastic burrs with fine grit sandpaper. Try not to touch the parts of the fender you don't want all scratched up. Take your time, once you chop, there is no going back unless you purchase new plastics. Good luck!
