Question for you "ACE" mechanics
#1
I recently had the engine on my 700 prairie taken apart to find missing teeth from the flywheel. The dealer said they had to split the case to find the teeth which they did. When I got it back I gave it another 10 hour break in period before going wide open. when I did open it up, the top end speed was about 64 as compared to 67-68 before it was taken apart. If during the rebuild, could the dealer have mis-timed the front cylinder cam by being off one tooth or so? If they did would I notice an all around lack of performance? Would the color of the plugs be different from one another? The low end appears to be the same as before. Before it was taken apart I had about 100 miles and 11 hours on it so its still sort of fresh in my mind on how hard it pulled to its top speed and the lack of that now. The only new parts that were installed were gaskets and rings. Any suggestions????? THANKS
