Default opinions please

A few weeks ago my cousin hit a tree on my 650. From what i saw it was gonna be ok, no one hurt and damage looked cosmetic. I ordered frt plastic, frt rack, and handle bars. The handle bars were really buggin me and my dad because they still looked bent. We couldnt find anything worng with the steering stem. He took some frame measurements and its bent about 3/4 of an inch. My question is to how to go about getting a new quad fairly? What i wanted to do was get a new 700, id put in the extra 100 cause its more than the 650s retail, i would part out most of quad and give them what ever i got in parts. My dad wants to collect what my 650 is worth and give them the 650, it still works but not for my uses. He said he will pay the difference in price for the 700. His way i wont have anything in the garage and he will wind up paying. What do you guys think is fair? My dad pays for alot of the stuff i do and i dont really want him to pay for this.
thanks

if you have insurance then you could look into them covering the repairs (or a new bike)
