Bayou dies when in gear
#1
I have a 185 bayou that just had new rings put in
it now starts perfectly, and idles fine, but here is the problem
I put it in gear, and it will still idle fine, but when I hit the gas, it stumbles on itself for a second (bogs) then revs up and starts to go, but then just dies.
weird as hell
sometimes it will go move a bit at about 50% of the power it should have, before it dies
any ideas??

ok to update
played around with the throttle linkage, and took some slack out of there using the barrel adjuster, took alittle more out so the idle started to come up, then adjusted the idle mixture screw until the idle came back down.
It still stumbles at first, but if I can get past that by revving it, it will run with most of its power back....
just seems that it is REALLY weak at low RPM's
I was thinking lack of fuel, removed the fuel cap just to make sure the pump could give it its all, stilll didnt help
damn thing is still falling on its face at low rpms....

The mixture screw needs more adjusting. You said " took alittle more out so the idle started to come up, then adjusted the idle mixture screw until the idle came back down. " Set the idle back up some, and then slowly adjust the mixture screw in, until the rpms drop, from there count the turns you go out, until the rpms drop again. Halfway in between those two drops, is where the screw should be.
This should get rid of the hesitation.
