Front exhaust heat tape on 03 P650

Default Front exhaust heat tape on 03 P650
Thinking about installing, but I was told it will quickly rust the exhaust and it collects a bunch of mud.
Anyone have these problems?

Why not ceramic coat it or send it to jethot?
