I have both cdi and key.The key added more overall power to the cdi.It seems to be not to much timing .My plugs are fine in all the ranges.I think its worth adding for all it costs .It made my 650p pull alittle omre in the mid to top with the key added to the cdi.I'm running 94 octane and a little klothz octane booster

I have been very pleased with the dg3, I like the idea of keeping everything functioning as Kawasaki engineers intended. The low and mid range power is very good and they offer a stamped 6 degree key for even more power.

you guys with the cdi are overrating yourselves,I raced my bros identical 03 over and over again.. I with the dg3 and his with the cdi..it is neck and neck everytime niether wins or loses..the gain is almost identical.yes he might beat me "up hi" but where would we ever be able to wing them out like that.save your self a hundred bux and go with the dg3...the only thing about his is a higher rev limit..and if you do alot of trail riding you will never ever hit those limiters..the only time I would see a need for a higher limiter is if its wide open, like dunes or something..in the Northeast there simply is no reason for it..unless you like wrapping your stuff around trees...and with the limits of the CVT you probably wont be reaching into the limiter much anyhow..

I think I have to agree with Metalikev. I love my Dyna, and I wouldn't get rid of it for anything, but the DG3 does pretty much everything the Dyna can do in our area. Places to really open it up are few and far between unless you want the local law looking high and low for you. We line em up side by side alot, and we always end the same, side by side. Depending on traction issues, i.e. he gets alot more of it than I do, he can beat me easily. Where you ride your bike should have lot to do with how you go on this. Are you always doing 65 up old logging roads? Or across the desert? If you are, get the Dyna. If your a trail rider like us, the DG3 will do all you need, and it'll save you 100 bucks. My 2 cents, from someone who plays with both.
