Motor mods for kawa 360 4x4
My brother just bought a kawa 360 prairie 4x4 last month. I have rode it a few times and even though there is no comparison to my kawa 700 prairie, it is a very nice mid range quad. I was wondering if there are any engine mods to help boost the top end. It has very good low end grunt, but I think the upper end is slighty lacking, but that might be because I am used to my 700 prairie. Thanks for any help.

couple of jet kits appearing on the market for the 360----Dyna jet has one and Rockymountain atv sells a K&N kit for the 360----or he might want to try shimming the needle jet with some washers himself---i presently have about .060 shimmed---mine has never run better
Hey Uinthas---whats this 145 main i see in your thread?????????????????????????
I am still at 150 but have considered going leaner----I still dont see no molten metal on my sparkplug---what do you find with the 145????

Oleman, dont know if you seen my previous thread earlier this week but here it is <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://forums.atvconnection.com/messageview.cfm/catid/9/threadid/412622.cfm">Reading
Plugs</a>
Anyway I was always confused why the top ring of the plug was black & the ground electrode was white, so I was always thinking I was lean. According to Kawasaki for my elevation 4700 - 7700 ft I should be using a #145 but was always scared because I thought I might already be lean. Anyhow newbeatle responded to my questio & it appears I have been reading my plug wrong, the wring is where you read jetting according to him. so if that's the case I'm rich. My buddy owns a 650 & he runs 130 f 135 r & kawi recomends he run a 132 f 138 r so he actually running leaner then Kawi recomends.. I just installed the 145 last night so havn't really tested it out yet, hope it's okay though, I let you know

I made my shims---I was able to borrow a micrometer from work---just bought some small brass washers and flat filed them to my specs---easiest mod i ever did---although if i had to redo, i would consider the dyna jet kit
Uinthas---I did miss your post--I have been doing a lot of traveling lately---but mine is the same, top thread is black---i measured my alt. with a gps and i am around 2000ft--- I know my quad runs fastest with the 150 main, but i never tried one any leaner----let me know what happens---I dont know if i am riding mine to hard or what, but every brisk ride and my fan seems to be running alot!!!! I remember stating in the past with the bigger mains in, i dont remember the fan running so much----keep us posted
