Default spark plugs

what does it mean when the spark plugs are black? rich or lean? and how do i fix it? o yeah, and how do i fix it when it putters?

What are the conditions when it putters? Motor cold or hot? Closed throttle or wide open, or somewhere in between? Has the air filter been cleaned lately?

Black is lean, try turning the air screw on the carb out a half a turn, ride it for a while and then check it. try another half a turn and so forth.

Black is lean? Racing stock cars for 20 years, I always thought black means to much fuel, which means rich. You are right about the air screw though, let more air in and it may balance the mixture out.
