Default Big Bore 900cc

A lot of people have PMed me asking about my 850cc motor.

This is what Mickey Dunlap posted on another site.

I orderd in a new 750 cylinder to make sure my 800cc G-Force kit would work, and it will, in fact I can bore it up to 90mm. Right now my 800 kit uses a 88mm piston, using the 750 cylinders and a 90mm piston you could make an 840cc kit for the Prairie 700 and V-Force. Now for the bad news, you will have to bore the cases. The good news is you don't resleeve and with a big big stroker I might be able to build a 900

How much power would that monster have??

Shotgun,
Next thing will it be able to stay cool? You will use it for pulls I would think that there would be more heat generated with pulling than drag raceing. What concerns do you have about keeping it cool. You probably have guessed that it will need heavier gears with that extra jam!!!!!!

80 HP @ the crank has been reported on our 785cc kit. Cooling will be improved because of the alum. cyl. and nic-a-sil plating. I think we will be fine on the gears as long as you don't jump 30 feet in the air and come down with the gas on. Sorry SHOTGUN, we haven't even finshed your 850 and this comes along. It's like buying electronics, as soon as you get out the door it's out dated.

No Problem Mickey,

With the bigger carbs, stronger rods, higher comp pistons, I'm not worried about the 900's, still have alky and Nos to step up to if needed.

Glad to hear they keep getting bigger. Its a great time to be an ATVer. I know a few people that are going to have to take back what they said about an Auto, when they start eating roost from a big old heavy Priarie, brute or V. Get aboard or get left behind.

Alltoys, I hope the only heat problem will be under the rear wheels..

Shotgun,
I hope you are right. My P700 will going under the knife this fall I have a record of my own that is nagging at me once it is surpassed then I can relax. Mickey is right about the gears they have taken a lot from me although I gather you have had your share of busted parts.

Mickey,
We need to talk I'll be in-touch!!!!

I ordered the 800 kit for my STP700 last week. I was wondering how does the kit efect the reliabilty of the quad , like I said i already ordered it but was thinking of getting anouther quad for all day riding in the mountains and other larg trail areas if need be. I am just a little worried about the kit making the quad too tempermental for the realy big adventure rides. When I travel 1000 miles away from home the last thing I want to be doing is working on my quad or trying to find a mehanic that has the skills to fix a heavily modded quad. We took my brothers banashee to colorado once and lost a hole day out of our 3 day trip trying to get it to run in high altitude. we even took the thing to an ATV dealer and they could not get it to run. We ended up buying another quad so we could continue our trip. I was also wondering if its better to put a big borre kit on a brand new engine or one that has 20 or so hrs on it (broke in). I cant't wait to get my 800 kit installed on my STP700.

Hey Mickey have you shipped my Kit yet.

So what will this 800cc setup cost me out the door?
I mean total I don't want to have to do anything but drop it off and pick it up.
