Default New Brute

Stopped of at the local dealer yesterday to get some synthic oil for my 700 Sportsman. While I was there the sales man offered to let me try out a new Brute Force 750. I took it for a spin around the lot and through a small trail area they had set up. Comparing this to my sportsman is like comparing apples to lima beans. The Brute rides just as smooth as the 700SP, steering is the lightest I have ever felt on a Ute. The power is absolutely mind-boggling. I can't believe the power.
I'm glad I finally saw the light and now know what I was missing. They gave me 5800 for my 04 700Sp. Price of a green BF 7200 OTD with winch. I'm happy to say it's sitting in my garage as of last night. Took the wife and daughter out for a good 6mi break in ride. Gotta say I love this bike. Did notice quite a bit of heat on the left side, probably cause I was ridding fairly slow (no more that 20mph.)
Any tips I should look for or be aware of from you BF owners.

Congrats, I hope you enjoy it. As for tips, I think you'll be seeing plenty once more people have
the opportunity to put in a few miles on it. Make sure you give all the bolts a good once over,
some of us had a few loose fasteners. Be sure to check the exhaust flange fasteners.

These are things that I have learned since owning the Brute:

1. Keep the radiator clean.

2. I had a bolt come loose and fall out on the exhaust guard right by your left leg.

3. It gets faster as it gets broke in (hard to believe).

4. 4x4 doesn't engage in reverse when going from 2x4 to 4x4. I found this out on a hillside. Not the best time to find out.

5. The grease zerks on the rear drive shaft can't be lubed with a standard grease gun fitting.

I am going a ride on Saturday. I will get a better idea of the machine after that.

Add one other thing to that list:

Check the rubber rings on the front drive shaft. Mine seem to end up flopping around on the shaft
instead of staying in place on the rubber boot. They look like black rubber o-rings.

I had the same thing happen to my BF. I'm thinking about using a hose clasp to make sure that the boot cannot move.
