Kawasaki oils/Honda Oils/Suzuki oils are repackaged Mobil or Kendall oils minus a few additives.
Lucas oils basically improve viscosity, and arent much but snake oils.
Synthetics are good for reducing temps and wear, or if you want to double your drain periods.
The best bang for the buck motor oils are Diesel 15W40s, heavy duty oils with no friction modifiers.
If you want to go with synthetics the best bang for the buck is Shell Rotella 5W50 in the blue jug at Wal-Mart.

"Kawasaki's oil is made by Motul. Says so right on the back of the bottle"
Good to know. I never would use Motul in motocross bikes or streetbikes due to the French ownership. Personally I still have a bad taste in my mouth of what the French did to us....but I am sure it is good oil for all intents and purposes.
250 miles or more would be a good number to shoot for to switch to synthetic. You want to make sure that the rings seat well and that the cylinder walls are good and smoothed out.
Redline Oils had a PDF about not using their oils during break-in.. good synthetics wont allow the rings to scuff the cylinder walls down to a fine smooth polish.

Jeez, got so fired up to bash ****** I forgot to add, after 100 hours synthetics should be good on most engines, I run it in both cars, the tractor, the lawnmower, the ATV.
The toyo went from 24 to 26mph, the van stayed the same, the tractor turns 200 rpm higher, so they do the job!
If we all ran synthetics we could start to kiss the you know whos good bye!
And alchie for the engines!! Grow more corn!! sorry....thread hi-jack
