Default What am I doing wrong?

O.K. I'm a little frustrated so bare with me. I shimmed my needles the other day with 4mm washers. (I could not find any 3mm). I shaved them down on the outer circumference so they would fit inside the needle retainer. THe quad ran like crap off the bottom...waaay too rich, but it ran awesome mid to top. Tonight I pulled the needles and replaced the metal shims with nylon washers that fit perfectly. Now the quad run good off the bottom but it seems like as soon as it starts to get on the main jet it burbles and will not accelerate.

The metal and nylon shimms are almost identical in thickness.
I put the shim in the correct position, but I can't figure out what I've done wrong. I don't think I had the return spring seated improperly on the first install, but I don't know what I've done wrong this time. This is not my first time working on carbs either. please help.

Default Different shim question. Need Help

I had to adjust my throttle linkage after changing the clip position on my Dynojets and rev it high a few times to get the springs unstuck to get mine to idle right.

My bike was a little lean and caughing at idle. The carb vaccum slide springs are easy to bind when you put on the top carb cover. She's purring now!

Maybe try one nylon & one metal washer? Trial and error when it comes to jetting.
