Default CDI for Prairie/TwinPeaks700

I don't have experience but from what I hear it really helps. I did a search on web and gt tons of inf. It should give gains all the way through and add top end. I think about 230 bux and 2 hours labor at the shop.

Thanks I'll do some research.
I see you have the 4 degree key.
You will love the dyna cdi with it. My only worry is how the machine holds up.
It really kicks the power out with the combination.

Which would you do first, dyna or cams? I have the dg3. Will the extra 5* make a big diff. or is it the rev higher that helps the most. I suppose I would need race gas at 1800'

No race gas needed at all. Maybe 93 but no higher. Without interal engine work you will never see the stock rev limit of 8500 rpm much less the 9200 of the dynatek. Since you already have the DG3 and key in, cams would be the next step. I believe you will benefit more from them than you will the CDI. Im going to try a dynatek cdi next weekend to see if its worth it BUT, if I was going to spend money on mine right now I would buy webcams for it for sure.

I envy you. Im still trying to find someone to sell me a piston to at least reach 700cc from my P650. I figured it up, I need an 84mm piston to give me almost 699cc. If I can talk Mickey D into selling me his 87mm pistons I can make it a 750.

Mickey D. do you have any 84mm to 86mm piston kits you will sell?

I bought one for my 2002 P650 and one for the twin peaks, I noticed more difference withe P650 than the 700 but I realy didn't notice the extream gains some were talking about. I will say both quads wheeleeee better but didn't see that big top end difference everone talks about, the P650 runs about the same top speed as befor right around 65mph on pavement 63 on hard pack and 55 on sand. The twin peaks might have gained 2 mph on top end.

I Like the boxes and would buy them again, just don't expect the moon its just a CDI not a big bore kit.

I keep hereing about these 4 degree keys what ill that do to help the CDI's and will it make them even harder to start than they are now or about the same. I was in colorado riding this week and my P650 was a real bi*%& h to get started in the cool mountian morrnings after setting all night.

cc1999, How fast does you tp go? I am only up to 62, that is a gain from 57. Maybe more timing helps? Key plus cdi, =9* Thanks for the reply.
