I don't know about the Prairie being replaced by the Brute Force; hopefully it won't be. I guess it depends on which is most important to you; a smooth ride, or better handling. And it is too bad they cant do a better job of giving us both.

I do have a question though, ... for the last three years we have listened to a whole lot of people on this forum tell us why SRA was soooo much better than IRS. Well if that was the case, then why are so many people switching over to the Brute Force. Could it be that IRS really is better afterall? Or is it just that people will tend to buy the newest ATV out there?

We have one of each type in our family, with my wife riding the Grizzly and me riding the Prairie. I think we'll keep it that way, because they both have their good points if you ask me.

IRS has always been better for road racing of all kinds.
gimme straight axle for 'point it, punch it' types of racing or pulling.

 

i dont think its the IRS as much as 750cc. you know how it goes, mine is bigger than your's HA HA HA.

but really come on, are they going to get rid of the prairie just because of the plastic.

now if i see a prairie with SRA and a 750cc motor, i might fall into the ITS NEW AND I WANT ONE WAGON.

 

So how does the Brute Force do at balance wheelies (as opposed to power wheelies)? The balance point on the Prairie is way up there, and you are almost straight up and down when at the balance point. That, combined with the "wet disc" rear brake not seeming to respond as <u>quickly</u> as a regular disc brake, makes the high balance point a bit spooky until you get the hang of it. I've only had this Prairie for a day though, so I am still learning, LOL.

I ran into my first KQ at HAtfield/McCoy this weekend.Reverse was already out of it...geeesh.It did look nice and they guy liked it so far....it was his first day.I asked him how it cornered and he hesitated and said something like a grizz!!!!!!!!!!!!.......that is not what has been floated out there I told him but he stuck to it.The more I hear this the more I am leaning towards staying with the solid axle too......surely they have to bump the Prairie to a 750...they have the engine for gods sake!.....lets keep our fingers crossed

I think Kawasaki is afraid to bring the Prairie 750 EFI SRA to the gunfight in fear there would be no more sales of the 700, 650, or Brute 750 IRS. Just a Marketing tactic.

Outerlimit; you gotta watch those wheelies I read on hear that it starves the front cylinder of oil and could sieze it (i believe this did happen once). So next time you got that front end way up there don't ride it too long[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

righto-its certainly the marketing- when I brought my 650 in early '03 the tradeshow rumors were they were already working on the 750!
If anyone thinks there isnt an 800 pound, 80mph all wheel drive, IRS, 1200 V-twin tooling around a yard somewhere you dont realize how big money works LOL
