Default Any problems starting 650 in " gear " ?

Figured you guys have a lot more experiance than us Cat owners so my question is: Will starting a 650 in gear cause any problems down the road with the belt or tranny ? Will this put any additional strain on any componants ? Many thanks in advance for any thoughts. And thanks again for the help you've given us 650 Cat owners. It is appreciated.

It won't cause any problems; it's no more stress than putting it in gear while it's running and letting it idle for a few seconds before you take off.

Mines an early '02, & I've pretty much abused the heck out of it, & had no problems related to starting in gear... the clutch doesn't honestly know the tranny is in gear, as the belt spins freely on the sheeve, like it does at idle... if the quad started at 5000 rpm, then maybe, but I've never had to give mine gas to start, when it was warm, whick would be the only time it's off, while in gear...
