Default Drag Racing a V force

LAst weekend at SilverLake I was tearing up the drag strip on my DS. I tried to get my buddy on his V to see how he would do. He said no, so I got on it. Going from a clutch to an auto for drags was not easy for me. What is the best way to get a good hole shot on a V ?

Rev it until you feel the clutch engage with the brakes on. Then drop the hammer and hold on. Keep your weight forward over the bars. The front likes to come up on the V.

I prefer to stab the throttle from an idle if the traction is real good. This seems to spin the tires a little more reducing the amount the front end comes up. If its real loose I will bring the rpms up until the quas is just starting to move and hold it with the front brake.

How do you get on the drag strip at Silver Lake? I will be up there next Thursday and would like to run my V if possible.

It's just a straight away and anyone willing to run just pull up to the line. They drag in
different locations depending on the terrain and wether it's flooded or not. I'm gonna go the weekend after Labor day.

I totally sucked at it, I only did it 2 or 3 times, I got roosted on so bad I wasn't going to try it any more. Do you put on both front and rear breaks and break torque it? or just the front? Just nailing it didn't work for me. remember this is in sand, not dirt.

don't the cvt engage at higher rpm with different weights seems that is what it would take for a ture drag -v, seems that is what they do with the snow machines.

Yeh, I usually use both front and rear brakes. I shift my weight (235lbs) to the front and hammer down. Once the front end is down, I sit back and go.
