Default Brute Force--what kind of winch???

I just got a Brute Force 750 and included in the deal is a 2500 Warn Winch installed. The dealer is going to put the winch on when the Brute goes in for its first maintenence check-up (after 10 hrs). I was wondering how much more a winch with a remote would cost. Do any of you have a winch with a remote control? How do you like them?? Is it worth it to get one with a remote since it would be safer? Thanks for all who reply.

whatever you do don't get a superwinch, I don't like their freespool setup, sometines I can't pull the **** out to get it to freespool, it's a bad design in my opinion

i have a ramsey wireless remote 2500 winch on my rubicon. its nice but i never use the remote. i have a warn 2500 on my brute and no remote it works just as good. warn finally made a nice switch. make sure your dealer does a nice job and that it comes with a roller fairlead, mine did. gotta love the brute!!!!!!

one of my riding buddies has a remote for his winch...its a piece of crap...it doesnt hold up to the kinda condition thatd use use it in,..it hardly has any range even with a new battery and it seems that if you got it kinda wet or muddy it would be toasted to boot...waste of time and money in my book.

You are supposed to get the Warn 2.5Ci with the $69 deal and it comes with a handlebar mounted switch. You can buy the wired remote (20 feet I think) option for this winch from anyone who sells Warn winchs. You can mount the plug receptacle anywhere you want to and the wiring is just two wires and attaches with plugs at the solenoid. Your owners manual tells you how and it is very very simple.
I wouldn't think the receptacle and remote would be over $50. Considering you got the winch and mount for $69 (should have anyway), it's not a bad deal.
BTW, Warn said they will be coming out with their own winch mount for the BF750 that should tackle the problem of the fairlead being mounted so far back into the frame sometime around Christmas...
Also, put your tool kit somewhere else and mount the winch solenoid where the tool kit was (under the seat). It will keep it out of the mud/dust/water/bursh/etc.... It's easy to do and will be well worth it.
Hope this helps....
