Default two slight problems??360 prarie

one is when my unit is hot after running a while when i stop then start going again,,it tries to "flood out" or something, never going dead and will catch up..idles good and runs fast fine..just when hot and when starting out.....the other think is a "whiseling" sound when stopped...could it be from the belt cover not sealing good?????and is sucking air???

Coonelder

There have been some threads about vapor locking doining this supposidely from the gas tank getting too hot---folks have been insulating the bottom of their tanks with reflective insulation!!! How full was your gas tank?? seems an empty tank might heat up more than a full one..This has never happened to mine.

the squeeling sounds like your belt--is this only happening at idle with bike in gear??? If so, than this usually means the belt is adjusted tight (which is a good thing for belt life) and you should get in the practise of putting it in neutral when idling---if it squeels on takeoff, you have a loose belt that needs adjusted

Welcome Aboard

On the hot starting out issue you are probally getting some vapor lock due to the gas getting too hot. We had the same problem with ours that would happen almost everytime we got to 1/2 tank or below on a hot day whil running hard. The problem got better when I pulled the gas tank and insulated the bottom with 2" wide foil tape from home depot in the heating department with the duck work. I still had a slight problem at that point that went away with a fresh plug as the one that was in there was nasty black.

It might be worth checking with the dealer as more people have been running inot this it seems and maybe they have a fix now. Let me know fi they do!

OleManMoses has you covered on the belt.
