ITP valve stem whoops!!!!!!
#1
i recently purchased a set of itp 5-series wheel and mud-lite kits. im happy with both but when i took them out of the wrapping and mounted them i noticed how close the valve stem was to the outside edge. ive seen their products before on other machines so i figured nothing to worry aboutand rode for a few weeks with them. then it happened ina mud pit on the farthest point from truck it happened pulled out of the mud hole and psssssssst. i thought not a problem i have plug anr enough repair stuff to fix it. but behold the close to edge valve stem was gone. so to fix this problem i went to the local parts store and bought chrome 2 piece valve stem kit it comes with 2 rubber grommets the stem and a nut to screw on the outside to keep it together. not only does it look good but offers a little more protection from the mud monsters in the pits. just thought i could offer a little advice since ive gotten so much from everyone hear. ps the stem is stonger but even if it hits something big will probably still break before damage to the rim occurs.

Hum, I've been woried about that too. You don't happen to have a pic of those things you bought do you, or maybe a brand and model or something? I can't pisture what you're talking about and how it works.
I thought about asking the boys at Les Schwab if they could put some sort of steel or stainless steel valve stem on but I haven't gotten around to it....

Those are available at advanced auto parts. They sell em in the tire section and they work great. I too have been aflicted by PSSSST in mud holes.
