If you are using a Fram replacement could you please post the part number? I thought someone had posted some time back but I cant find it in a search. Please only post if you are currently USING a fram replacement in your BF. I dont want to chance, "well, the VForce *should* work", Thanks for your time

no, never taken one apart. Used them for many years and never had a problem. I change em when I change the oil and I change the oil when it starts to change color. maybe a waste but I have cars with 200k+ miles on them and the engines run/perform great.

I think there's a link to some good info about oil filters on NYROC's sight (search Google "nyroc"). There was a list of most of the available filters that were of similar size and some other great info.... I've been using automotive filters with great success four about $4 each. Don't remember the numbers right off hand, but I'm pretty sure the link was on NYROCs sight.

from what ive read fram is the worst oil filter you can buy for any machine. the end caps of the filters are made of cardboard unlike all others which use tin. heres a page that has a picture of the fram that was cut open you can see for yourself.

and heres a page that has an oil filter comparison of a few popular brands

Wow those links have convinced me. I guess the only thing that has been saving me it I change my oil and filters very often. I am amazed at the size of the filter of the Napa.

I use OEM filter's........Why? Auto filter's will fit, but have different flow rates than motorcycle filters and the bypass valves also work at different pressure's....You may be fine, But in the long run, you may have trouble with flow to the top end of the motor, i won't chance it.........

Do you have the info on the difference in the flow rates and the pressures at which the valves function? A motorcycle mechanic told a friend of mine this same thing but offered no documentation. I have been using OEM as well because of questions regarding these issues. I have been unable to locate any numbers to prove or disprove the differance.
