KFX 700 for sometimes muddy trails? Rocky trails in Colorado like those between Aspen and Taylor?
#12
I did it. I just purchased a new orange 04 KFX 700 V-twin bad a$$ ride. When testing it, I was riding wheelies in the parking lot. I was able to hit the gas and raise the front end up over a curb and the tires didn't even touch. Practice for jumping logs. What a lot of power. Thanks for all the help and answering my questions. Now how do I tell my wife?

Congrats, Now buy her flowers with a thank you note for being so understanding and take her to dinner some place nice. Then get ready to sleep on the couch for a couple nights she will get over it in a couple days. Warning she might go clothes shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is worth it in the end.

Have then delivered before she sees the quad also have them put in a basket not a glass vase hurts alot less if she tries to break it over your head.

I figure she will know something is up when I give her flowers with an old army combat helmet on my head.

I have tried that. You see, I was hurt badly in a car wreck 4 months ago. I had a concussion and now have post concussion syndrome. I am an engineer and that doesn't go well with my career. So what do I do. I go out and purchase a new quad. Not that we are starving, its just probably the worst time. I got the money by getting a huge amount of money to fix my car from the insurance company. I then had a friend do just the minimal repair necessary that it looks fine. It has 90,000 miles so it doesn't need to be new. So I figured its my money to do with as I feel. A little selfish. I am getting an ATV for each of my kids also.
By the way, do you guys know anything about Yamoto or Kazuma youth ATV's. You hear good and bad on the sites. But the ebay customers seem to give the guys good feedback for the quality of the machines.
Thanks,
Shawn

Ditto the above on the V and mud/rocks. It does real well, just keep the speed up on the thick mud. No problem with crawling up rocks, gawd knows we have enough of them in our trails here. Every hill climb is a rocky wash out. I'm putting mudbugs on the rear of the V for winter. I don't know if they will do as well as the holeshots in the rocks, but they should do much better in the snow.
LOL@Shawn, very timely. I just broke the news to wifey yesterday that I bought a Brute. I had no choice since I picked it up yesterday and it's kinda hard to hide. Told her I spent some money on a snow removal device for our newly paved driveway. Went something like this...
Me- Honey, I bought a snow removal device.
Wife- Where did you get the snowblower ?
Me- Kawasaki.
Wife- I didn't know Kawasaki makes snowblowers ???
Me- They don't.
Wife- Huh ???
Me- I bought a Brute Force.
Wife- Huh ???
Me- It's a 4x4 atv that comes with a snow plow.
Wife- Oh ( rolleyes, mad look of disgust)
Wife- Will I be able to use it, or is it too complicated ???
Me- ( smiling as I know I'm not divorced now) Oh no honey, it's easier to ride than the KFX400, no shifting or clutch work required.
Wife- Well, than I want one thing.
Me- Huh ???
Wife- I want us to take a different vacation next summer, pack up the three quads, one dirtbike and take the kids on a riding vacation.
Me- Huh???
Me- I mean, of course we will !!!
I guess it helps that my wife rides a 636, but ya get the picture. Get wifey involved in your interests and it makes new purchases easy

You remember the event very vividly. I am afraid my situation will be very vivid in my memory also. I think Mine will start with yours, but at about the point where yours rolls the eyes, by grabs a cast iron skillet. The next sound is a loud ding followed by a scream and a thud. By the way, the thud is me hitting the floor unconscience.
At that time, she thinks about my future worth verses my life insurance policy payout. I hope I win.
