Brute Force Plastic
#1
Hey All,
Just wondering how that new harder plastic on the Brute is holding up... I seen one in person the other day and it looks super cool but I have questions as to it's durability...
While on the topic of plastics I was bush riding this weekend and a stick got caught between the black trim piece and the front right fender on my stp 700. Instead of the rubber grommets/fasteners popping, they tore through the plastic and I can't reattach. Short of buying a new fender is there any good way to do plastic repair. Has anybody just taken these flares off and just shaved their fenders?
Curious?

Dont know about removing the flare, but alot of people drill 2 small holes on the edges and use small zip ties for a cheap fix. They come in all colors. good for quick fix, (keeps it from spreading) but leaving it that way is up to you.

look thru some of the members pic pages quite a few people have removed the black pieces and then trimmed the lip off the fenders...we did it to one of our stp700's just the other day i personally think it looks alot nicer with out those pieces anyway...also 1 less places for dirt to stay hidden and clean up seems a bit easier and i havent gotten any dirtier than before removal...take 'em off and go nuts with some good shears on the lip the hangs down on the fender and you're in there!!!!

My plastic is doing great , I caught a tree in a leaning spot and it pressed my rear fender in about 3 inched and it poped back perfect , I like them a lot better than the prairies and water can't run down between the flap and fenders like it does on the prairies
