Help !!!!!!!! 02 650 fuel pump problem.
#12
this is a learning experience here for me. I found the check valve has a bypass built in to dump excess fuel back into the tank. So inorder for this plan to work I must find a work around for that problem.
If i knew the pressures needed for the system i could make it work, I think. Anyone have any idea about the pressure on the fuel system?
I can put me a bypass in and dump back into the tank.

Ok The fix i orginally thought would turns would not work as planned. However, I located the problem. The pump was working but the check valve regulator attached to the pump was stuck closed. I cut the plastic tabs holding it to the pump, took valve apart and cleaned with carb cleaner. I put it back together and it works fine.
I used two very small stainless steel screws to fasten the check valve back to the pump. After drilling a small pilot hole.
I somewhat put it back together and tested for a bit. Started right up and seems all is well. If this works it will have saved me the price of a 600.00 fuel pump my dealer quoted. But was not the simplyest procedure to do.
