Default Help !!!!!!!! 02 650 fuel pump problem.

Sounds like a heck of a plan to me. If it works you might pass it along NYROC, KOD and the other guys that have tech tips. Let us know how it works out.

Default Help !!!!!!!! 02 650 fuel pump problem.

this is a learning experience here for me. I found the check valve has a bypass built in to dump excess fuel back into the tank. So inorder for this plan to work I must find a work around for that problem.

If i knew the pressures needed for the system i could make it work, I think. Anyone have any idea about the pressure on the fuel system?

I can put me a bypass in and dump back into the tank.

Yeah, give it to nyroc if you come up with something. He has a much better site and I dont even have a tech tip section like he does.

Ok The fix i orginally thought would turns would not work as planned. However, I located the problem. The pump was working but the check valve regulator attached to the pump was stuck closed. I cut the plastic tabs holding it to the pump, took valve apart and cleaned with carb cleaner. I put it back together and it works fine.

I used two very small stainless steel screws to fasten the check valve back to the pump. After drilling a small pilot hole.

I somewhat put it back together and tested for a bit. Started right up and seems all is well. If this works it will have saved me the price of a 600.00 fuel pump my dealer quoted. But was not the simplyest procedure to do.

Good job, good info.

You won't have any trouble replacing your belt. Follow nyroc's tech tip, use P700 belt.
