Amsoil 10W40 Synthetic Racing Oil in Peaks!
#2
I used Amsoil 10-40 Motorcycle Oil in the engine and in the front differential without any problems. It does seem to run a tad cooler with the synthetic oil also. You should not have a problem with running that racing oil. Just be sure not to use it in the rear diff.

Yea, i am going to be going with another type such as Redline, I like it for the protection factor, but i guess its not recommended for Limited Slip Differentials, so if i were you i would be changin ur front diff immediatly......
Someone read this from some valvoline website or something! Definately not in the rear i used that KawiChem424 Stuff for Wet Diff....
I guess Amsoil gets dirty quickly?

I've used Amsoil 0W-40 ATV/4-stroke oil for a bit more than 1800 grueling miles in my p650. It works beautifully in the engine and front diff, and when I drain it after 500-750 miles depending on when I have time, it looks brand new.

As several people have pointed out after I posted the Valvoline info, not all syns are not good in LS front ends. The Valvoline 20w50 full synth is not reccomended by Valvoline for wet clutch systems. I think most of the other Valvoline full synth weights (normal automotive type) are the same.
Nyroc mentioned using MX4T with good results, and Lightman appears to like Amsoil... I'm sure there are other options too.

if you are using synth in a diff be sure to check that it is approved for such applications such a a sealed, wet clutch system...i.e..your front diff....a fair portion arent and it can cause premature diff wear and/or failure....so just do some research before you poor..

I use mobil v-twin in the front diff, since MX4T is too thin and I don't get a good lockup with it. I get less shavings in my diff with v-twin, so I think it is a good thing. It locks pretty well, but not as hard as it did new. It might just need adjusting.
Those are both SG rated, and I think the valvoline is not. I forgot the exact rating but I think auto oils are SJ? The newer auto oils have modifiers that can glaze wet clutches.
I think you will be ok with an ATV or MOTORCYCLE synthetic in the front diff. Stay away from auto oils in the front diff.

bLuRRRR27, yes Amsoil would be fine after 1800 miles! I use Amsoil and change it once a year in the spring. When I used dino oil I would change my oil once a month. As far as Amsoil getting dirty quickly that would only be if you put it in a neglected motor that had a lot of carbon, varnish and sludge build up. Amsoil synthetic will actually get rid of a lot of this stuff. After a few oil changes with Amsoil your oil will actually never look dirty. When I change mine out it looks like maple syrup, never dirty or black.
