Default Storage Container

I purchased a new Brute Force, and was looking at Kawasaki web site for pics and seen a storage container behind the gas tank. I looked my machine, and it does not have one. I looked in the owners manual, and on page 24 it is shown as : part # 34 on the BF. I called the dealer, and he's telling me its optional for $55.00. What the truth? Has anyone else inquired about this part? I've already been around the block a few times on other matters with this dealer, and I just want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off!
Thanks again, everyone.

as i called kawi to bitch about why they advertise with one and release without one and then charge extra for it, they told me the part # is 39012-5013 for the complete unit, for 34.55 list. apparently at first they offered it as many peice having to order them separate but now have a part # for the kit which is 34.55. i still call BS but i did order one anyways. but they are still backordered and cant tell me when they will get them.

I mean what the heck, thats why I ordered the machine. Didn't you? Ha Ha. Its shown on Kawi's web site mounted, on there broucher mounted, and list as a part in the manual to be mounted. Its not like they show a winch or tank bags or rack storage boxes on any of there literature, because you might think its part of the package. Or am I just making an ***-u-me-ing the obvious.

I'm thinking I'll make my own out of a large diameter pvc pipe, bet i could do it for 10-20 dollars, you cap off one end and get a threaded plug for the back so you can access it, then mount it to the holes that are at the back of the machine
