Its not all internet hype...as its noted in allmost all the mags and its pretty common no matter what dealer you talk to...i have one and wanted to believe that to be so...go to dootalk...or cudney racing website...cudney is one of three well known ski doo supporters that supply replacement pistons...he ordered over 500 sets last year for the rev model...sold out...ordered another 500 this year and he just emailed me that he has already sold 390 and there going fast if i want one. What is your compression on your rev...we know of three that compression has gone down in just after 500 miles...one guy that works at the local hospital thought he was great...buddy convinced him to get his compression checked and he found out his compression was in the 120's and his rings were bad...took to another dealer and got the same info...tell him its not wide spread...BRP did replace his rings....I dont think it happens to every sled...but it is definitely a problem...more so then a belt light wouldnt you say.
Glad to hear they have a big strong 4-stroke...now, unlike their traxter, lets hope they gear it right. Have a good one...were do you ride your sled

AceShwetz,
I lived close to you at one time. I would like to know your dealer were they in Edmonton? The new Bomb Outlander should be interesting I have found on other machines the Rotax engine is very durable, I however have not had any experience with rotax engines in sleds. I like the IRS design on the Outlander I believe it to be the better system than all the rest. My only hope is Bomb will have a locking front differential that would be sweet as my young cousin would say.
It is unfortunate you have had problems with your belt switch but it is easily remedied. Your dealer must grin every time you show up at the front door!!

I ride mostly in the Tug Hill area. They average over 300 inches a year. Would love to ride where you are someday.
I know there have been problems with rings on Series 3 engines but haven't seen any bad ones in the group that I ride with. Hopefully I never will.
I'm keeping my sled another season and will check compression before warranty runs out just to be safe. I'm confident that my dealer will make things right if there is a problem. Do you know what the compression should be for the 600HO? I've been to Dootalk and hear #'s range from 130-180. I would expect my sled to be slightly low due to the mileage.

No Sleadheadrich I dont know much about the 600. Only reason I am familiar with the 800 problem is we have had a few go down here and a couple of very reputable shops that I have come familiar has confirmed the problem as being pretty bad and the fail rate pretty high.
For information on your 600 go to www.cudneyracing.com
You can call him or email him...super great guy and knows ski doos like no other...he is Canadian and known alot better up there then down here...but knows his stuff...I love his clutch...buddy got a team secondary and after a couple rides will openly admit he should have went with the Cudney.
If you ever make it down this way you will have a place to stay...being new to Sled I dont know if i would be the best guide but have a few buds that could show you some good snowmobiling...boondocking, pow, and climbing. Bomb does make a good product...fit and finish on the REV is far superior to the AC or pol...

Hey!
I deal with most of the dealerships around the E-Town area, in one way or another. I am sure you are aware of the major Kawi dealership around Edmonton, and they have been what I consider a great dealership. However, after hearing the advice given on this forum, I am surprised that other dealerships have so easily given away their secret of the belt light, while mine has not ever given a hint that it can be done by a consumer. I guess you're right when they have a big grin on their face when I walk in. I'm kinda havin second thoughts about them now, but I have to admit that they have fixed my machines on weekends and on times that were out of the ordinary, thats worth a lot to me since my rigs all go to work as soon as they're out of the shop. They understand that when I NEED a machine, it is not for a pleasure cruise but for a living, and they generally treat me as such. I guess the $150 belt shot is a way to pay that off. Anyhow, I'll be better informed now that I've found forums such as these.
For anyone around the Central Alberta area, I've got to get something off my chest: I walked into Deerland the other day inquiring about a Brute Force. The Sales manager, I forget his name for obvious reasons, looked me up and down (I'm 25 with cowboy boots and a baseball cap), and didn't give me the time of day. When I asked for a little more consideration, he gave me a crazy $ amount for the difference in a trade-in for the 700, basically telling me to pack my bags. I like their service department there, and they're close to home, so I thought I'd give him a chance. But this guy completely lost his temper like I was wasting his precious time, and would not deal with me. Musta thought I was some skid that didn't have the bucks to back up a sale or trade-in. The silver lining in this is that I kept my cool, and when I was at the end of my fuse, told him that I was a major buyer from the surrounding dealerships, and just wanted to give him a shot. I told him how much over he was on the others offers, and I was PROBABLY not going to consider hin when I get four new ATVs for the coming season. Let me tell ya, this guy all of a suden was backtracking and sucking d#*k like you wouldn't believe as I walked out the door. He followed me right out to the truck (An 04 King Ranch, pulling a couple quads on a trailer with the company name on the side) and I swear, he was considering jumping on my windshield to stop me out of the parking lot. Kinda funny. Anyway, I doubt I'll ever go back to that pr*#k again. There must be soemthing about these John Deere dealerships around here that carry motorcycle brands, Martin Farm Equipment treated me even worse thatn this guy did, and believe me I spread the word to never go near that rip-off joint. Deerland is now added to it.
So, how did I get on tis? Oh yeah, I guess every dealership I go to sees a sucker when I walk in. I'm gonna watch these forums a little closer to get a better idea of what I should expect. Thanks for the help guys.

The Outlander is a fair machine but that is all the French have to offer.
Has anyone looked at the other crap they offer in atv's ?
Don't think that puts them in the top 1 as far as I'm concerned.
All I can say is good luck with that outlander 800 .
Yea a French atv is what I want. >>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>.
Just joking guys, Bombardier is as lost as the French Government, not people.
The outlander has potential to be a great machine just as the French people are great.
