P700 belt technical questions
I want to service my own belt and change the springs. I am very mechanically inclined but have never taken the belt cover off yet. So, question 1, what specialty tools do I need to do clutch springs and adjustments and were do I purchase then? Question 2, what is a better setup for the P700, Dalton or EPI? As far as mods go, I only have 25" Mudrunners but plan on going to 27's and I have a DG5 on the way. Any input would be appreciated. Oh, one more question, I have a Kawasaki service manual for my 2002 P650, can I use the data in regards to belt deflection in this manual or do I have to buy a P700 manual now?

Thanks Pete for the recommendation.
Hedgehog,
1. You will need a spring compressor and "should" have a primary pulley puller.
2. Spring are a matter of what works best and what you like. Dalton and EPI will both work fine. I run the EPI in my secondary and a Dalton Orange/Blue in the primary. I recommend Dalton springs because Dale "aka helix" gets in the forums and talks and helps us guys out. I think that should mean something to us.
3. The P650 manual should work for most everything on your P700. Some exceptions would be the electronics and engine specs as far as clearance and parts diminsions. Most everything else should be the same I think.
