Default 150 Miles on the Paiute

I rode 110 miles Saturday and another 40 or so Sunday on the Paiute trail in Utah this past weekend. Base camp was in Marysvale. Excellent trails! Everything from super nasty white knuckle decents to rocky mountain climbs, to smooth forest trail riding. If you live on the West Coast, it definitely worth the drive to the Paiute. 150 miles down and we did not even scratch the surface of the amount of available trails on and off the loop. It was really cool to be able to drive into the towns along the trail to gas up and grab lunch. Very OHV friendly. Trails are very well marked and the maps available are great. Sunday, I had the Brute up to 11,300 ft. in the snow with the stock jets and it ran fine! Yeah, there was power loss, but no sputtering or backfiring. I would recommend that you have a 4x4 ATV if you do extended riding because the trails can go from flat to hella steep really fast and one rider with us was having a bit of trouble on his Predator.

I can't wait to go back for a longer stay. Some guys from my work go up there for 2 weeks a year and I'm going to head up there next year with them...if not sooner.

Default 150 Miles on the Paiute

Yep, I was there a few weeks ago riding my P700 and covered 100+ miles each day. The trails and the town I stayed, Richfield, are like no other place in the U.S. People were riding 2 ups on ATV in the middle of the town along with cars and trucks! I was there for a week and I've never had to drive my car. I was riding my ATV all over the town to go to stores and restaurants from hotel. And my hotel even had a designated ATV wahsing area at the corner of their parking lot! The town folks were so friendly wherever I went. Maybe I've lived too long in California. Then, the endless trails are just awesome and so close to the town. It looks like this place will be my annual ATV vacation haven! The only bad thing was that there was no nearby Kawi dealer in case you need any emergency part. Luckily I didn't break anything on my quad there...

Default 150 Miles on the Paiute

Glad to hear you had a good time. We ride the Paiute Trail 3 or 4 times every year, and seem to have more fun each time we go. One trail that I would recommend is the side trail from Otter Creek Reservoir up to the main 01 trail, it is as scenic as anywhere on the trail system and includes everything from desert sagebrush, to juniper tree forest, to aspen forest, to deep pine forest, and includes the most intense set of switchbacks I have ever seen. Another great trail ride to sign up for is the Mountain Man Trail Ride at the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree each fall. The trail ride is five straight days of near 200 mile rides, with overnight campouts for four nights. You need to take enough food, clothing, and camp gear for the whole trip, but can gas up in the towns you pass through each day. It adds up to near 1000 miles of ATV riding in five days. It has been tough on years that are plagued with bad weather, but otherwise is what I would call a great adventure that you must do at least once in your life.
