Doesn't look like a scam to me, he has pictures of everything he's selling, they all appear to be at the same location, the "Perfect for you" is kinda weird, maybe the guy thought he was being smart. I notice his username has Quebec listed in it, so that's good. His recent auctions are for hockey cards/memorabilia though.
My guess is no, it's not a scam, but you really never know. Most of those scam's are from people over seas. Send him an email with some questions and check the header in the reply, see what host he is using, that might help to verify he's in Canada.

I have been watching a lot of these online scams that seem to be big ticket items. Buyers beware, e-bay is a breeding ground for internet fraud, it seems. Anything that looks bad, may be bad. Report anything suspicious to the FBI at https://www.ifccfbi.gov and stopfraud@ebay.com
