Bbertram, you are right. Although I never matched my stock Banshee against my Brute (not quite stock, it has a Dynatek ignition in it), I have matched my Banshee with a piped and jetted Z400 with a Dyantek ignition. The Banshee wins most of the time by just a little bit (but has been beaten once by a front wheel). However I’ve also lined up my Brute against the Z400 and beat it 2 out of 2 times (with more distance between me and the Z when I launched in 4WD), although the Z did not have the dynatek in it yet when it raced against the Brute. The proof can be found on the videos in my signature, all of the runs were over a distance of just over 430 feet (146 yards to be exact). Even though it isn’t what the Brute was designed for, it was still fun and was a little race between friends...

the KQ will not match the brute in acceloration. ever. Once the ppl with KQ's start to tinker a bit i figure that hesitaion will be cured quite easily. I've never rode either bike. Sat on a Brute. it was just to tall for my taste. From everything i've read the KQ is the closest IRS bike to a SRA prairie in terms of handling. That's the reason i'm toying with the idea of selling. plus the local suzuki shop is awesome!

I would say at some time or another 99% of us has had some type of acceleration lag. I havent rode or even seen the KQ yet. When I do I will test it and see what I think about this "take off lag" everyone talks about. Hopefully its not in the cvt system, if so not much can be done about that except change the weights and springs. If the lag is in the fuel supply Im sure Dynajet Power Commander will fix that easily PLUS supply even more power. I think you guys will be suprised when someone starts messing with this KQ700.

No, the King will probably never be up with the Brute without displacement mods, but I just meant to wake up the power a little bit and get rid of that "lag" off the bottom-end which seems to be programmed into the EFI for safety reasons.

I got a good look over of a KQ yesturday , I must say it is cheap looking , the grill and front bumper is a Joke, it feels like a good thorne would tare it all to pieces. A lot of people fussed that the BF was to open in the front , well the KQ's radiator is just as exposed the the BF , the CV's are not protected as good as the BF , the floor boards feel like the are paper thin, Maybe Suzuki needs to trade the EFI for some better plastic and sell it at the same cost. It is a good looking machine but after you get up close and start going over it , it is a cheap built machine , or at least in the plastic parts. The salesman heard me talking about the plastic and came over and took his foot and put it under the floorboard and with his toes he bent it up like it was nothing and then bragged about how much better the BF that was setting beside it's plastic was built.

I went to see a King at my dealer next door. It was in the back getting put together and i looked a the LCD, There was a Big crack in it. My dad asked what was up and the dealer said the fourwheller gets shaken up pretty good before it gets to the dealer. I feel bad for the person that messes up and buys it and when they get home look down and see a big crack.

Come on boys the king was detuned I was dissapointed to hear it too but after some mods the engine will wake up will it beat a prairie or Brute? sure but it will need mods, too bad we live in a world of rev limiters timing retards and restricted exhausts and airbox's. I am fairly confident that a company will make a cheap mod to wake that beast up and I think it will hang with the pariries and Brutes when a company provides a chip or such and timing advance device so all is not lost. I was kind of hoping it would bet a little stronger than the brute that way KAWASAKI WOULD HAVE TO ANSWER BACK shall I say 800,850,900,1000cc Vtwin? one question for Suzuki Who's the king now?
