CDI update
#1
Was playin around with the pilots and turned them in a little to about 2 turns out. Went for a drive, thing runs awesome. When I first put in the CDI I was concerned a little about the low end and maybe my jetting. I did runs before and after the CDI on a part of the road where I see how fast I can go and still get the front to come up while sitting in a normal riding position. After CDI install I thought I lost some low end and gained everywhere else but I later remembered that my tires were not gripping due to mud and dirt. I tried it again later with clean tires, I am no longer concerned.
I just love how I can make my own little adjustments to tweek my ATV. This website along with Nyroc's, KOD's etc. have taught me so much and saved me a lot of money and I gotta give thanks to everyone!! My atv has never run crappy so to speak but just fine tuning it is something I love to do. Hearing some reviews about the KQ and the miss some are having really makes me love my carbs even more. My quad has always ran smooth with awesome throttle response and I could honestly care less about EFI. It is not a hassle to me to use a choke for a couple minutes and I have no concern over gas mileage although the V- twin does have inherantly good economy(if memory serves me correct LOL) I mean I can do some serious riding on a full tank of gas, it's not like filling up the RAM thank god!
This Prairie really is the perfect quad for me, other than maybe trying a more aggressive primary spring I am done and completely stoked over the performance of this thing. I am glad my Prairie never ran like that Brute Force I drove at the stealership with the low end miss and sputter, was annoying. Although I still loved that monster!!! I think it will be awhile before I feel like my quad cannot keep up with the Jones', I mean with a 73mph top speed(so far) and smooth power from the bottom all the way to the top and absolute effortless wheelies at speed or from a standstill I am content... unless Kawi builds a BF SRA 750 or 800 with the same compression as the 700. Droooolll

Hi, Nutsy
When you say cdi is it the dynatek cdi?
Anyway glad you love the prairie, I felt the same way when I rode the BF750.
I will say it was only for about 15 minutes but I had enough.
You are still not done with mods unless you put a full hmf exhaust on.
The dyna cdi is 4-7 hp and a full blown exhaust that will rattle pictures off the wall is 4-7 HP.
Throw in a 4 degree advance key for a couple more hp.
Then go find a raptor and kick butt.

Yeah you are right, I have been thinking of doing the Nyroc exhaust mod...here we go again! LOL. Oh yeah it is a Dynatek. I suppose too I will end up doin a snorkle mod as well. Heck why not these are basically free mods aren't they? I better change my sig. and put Dynatek I forgot I just put CDI in there!

There you go Nutsy, Just when you had everything perfect you are going to screw with it. LOL
LOL again. Well seriously if I was going to do the exhaust I would get a full blown system. A few holes in the muffler will not increase the HP that much . I would hold off until I could get a full system. With a full system you will have too re jet for sure to gain.
The snorkel can be bought through DG for 50 bucks or go the napa route.

Try the Dalton Orange/Blue primary for some more snap off the line. I ran the EPI Red for awhile & switched to O/B Dalton & love it. Power comes on alot smoother. Since Im still running 25" tires I may go back with the stock Secondary Spring with the O/B Primary & a P700 belt to regain my top end. Popping the front now up OR ROOOSTING the tires is NO PROBLEM Just Blip the throttle wide open and back off before she drags the bumper.
Jetting has been the hardest thing to get right for me and you will find that when you install the Snorkel & start doing airbox mods.
Happy Trails

tuffEnuff, I never lost any top end speed with my EPI Black secondary. If you lost some I would look at other causes. Only secondary spring I have heard has caused top end loose was the EPI Red secondary. Just thought I would mention it but switch them out and see what happens, I would be interested to know
