Do you need a special spark plug wrench to remove the plug? I just bought a used one and can't get the plug out. How do you verify what year it is based on the serial Number.
Thanks for the info,
Mike

I know exactly what your talking about. I had to remove all of my front plastic and gas tank to figure out what the problem was. The wrench that they supplied with my tool kit was to large to fit down into the head and was only going down enough to touch the plug. I had to get very physical with mine (tapping the plug wrench down with a rubber mallet) to get it to where I could loosen the plug. Call your Kawasaki dealer and complain like I did and they will get you the proper size wrench.

Try switching to a splitfire plug wich uses a smaller size socket(11/16). It was so impossable to tighten mine that the spark plug on my mojave wasn't even tight from the factory. I talked to the mechanic at my Kawie dealer and he told me to get the splitfire plug and grind down an ll/16 deep-wall socket so that it fits. After a lot of grinding it was still tight but it worked. The mechanic told me it was the tightest head he had ever seen and my stock wrench wouldn't even come close after pounding it with a hammer so your head can't be as bad as mine.

Thanks for the posts. Finally got it out. Had to use the wrench in the tool kit. Took some time though, thought I was going crazy. Really I was embarrased to ask, I thought my spark plug wrench was bent or defective.
Thanks,
Mike
