Anbody tried the superwinch 3000? Thinking of buying a winch for my prairie but undecided between the Warn, Superwinch, and Ramsey. Which is the better winch for your Bucks?

I did a LOT of research (to the tune of about 2 weeks) before I purchased my WARN 2.5 winch. I wanted the best winch for the money. I must agree with Mr. Brute, I'm 99% sure that WARN makes Ramsey winches. At any rate, almost every review I read about the 2.5 was positive..........and EVERY atv shop technician I know recommended the WARN 2.5. I followed their advice, and I am very, very pleased.
I wasn't able to take advantage of the $69 deal that Kawazuki is offering now and I forked out almost $400 for mine......and that included the special winch plate that is needed to mount on a Prairie or Twin Peaks, and a roller fairlead.
One thing I would like to express if you plan to do-it-yourself.......if you're impatient, or not familiar with electrical wiring........mounting the winch is a pain in the A$$. In the instructions, it says to mount the contactor block in the most dry & clean area you can find. Well.......it's a freakin' 4 wheeler!!!.......Where is it NOT wet and dirty? Anyways, I ended up mounting the contactor in the tool box under the seat. You're also limited as to where you can mount the contactor because you're only given about 3' of cable to tie in to your battery. Bottom line......mounting the winch and plate to the frame is pie.......it's the wiring that will get you.
Go with the WARN......I believe you will be happy with your purchase.

I also got the Warn 2.5 and it works great. Mounted it up front with the plate for the prairie. I put the Solonoid under the seat, so that gave me lots of cable that I had to wrap up. And that's the point I want to make. Be sure the cable is tied up well under the seat. With a lot of bouncing around mine shifted down and contacted the muffler, which burned through the insulation, and shorted out the battery. This was not fun having to deal with out on the trail (or anyother time for that matter.)

No sarcasm, I said you needed to go back and do some more research.
I was not contesting your assesment of the warn winch, but rather your statement that you were virtually sure that warn made ramsey winches.
Warn does not make ramsey winches.
I have replied to countless posts on the winch question and many in recent days. I reply to things too often, which is why my post numbers are so outrageously high. I am trying to let others help out and just try to correct issues when I feel they need it.
