Default I think its a 100hrs. ! year old

Hay guys, I got my 360 aproximently 1 year ago. Today we went riding and the check belt light came on. I ride it allot and its one year old so im guessing its just the 100 hrs check up light. Does this sound right. Im getting a service manual hope fully this week. I always take care of this thing. I use low when ever im supposed to and beyond so the belt isnt misstreated. Should i just turn the light off bye myself or should i take it to the dealer. If i have the service manual and sure i can do it myself though. What is the reset steps for the 04 360. IN detail if ya can for me. Thanks.

The following is from Nyroc's site. http://atv.dnsalias.com/tipview.cgi?dir=Prairie

Early 2003 650 Belt light reset procedure.

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect the belt failure switch at the 2-pin connector above the CVT cover. (Note: Just follow the wires coming from the rectangular black box on the CVT Cover to locate this connector.)

3. Disconnect both sets of 5 pin connectors located above the CVT cover. Note: These connectors are located just beneath the shift handle on the right side of the 650; one is black and one is grey.

4. Connect these 5 pin connectors to their opposite pairs (grey to black and black to grey).

5. Turn the ignition switch ON.

6. Observe the belt-warning lamp. It should be flashing at a 0.4 second interval for a few seconds then start to flash slower. Let the lamp flash for at least seven seconds.

7. After seven seconds or more, turn the ignition switch off.

8. Reconnect 5 pin connectors to their proper location (black to black, grey to grey).

9. Connect the belt failure switch 2-pin connector (wires from CVT cover).

10. Turn the ignition switch on to confirm that the belt warning light is not flashing. Retry this procedure if needed. As far as I have heard it always works if the belt switch isn't tripped and there are no electrical problems.

The 360 belt light behavior is very similar to the 650. If at first you can not find the right connectors, keep looking deeper because they really are there. This has been the case with many 360 owners, they found them after looking.

Well on my Dad's 360 all I had to do was disconnect the SMALL black connector under the plastic on the shifter side...I disconnected it, turned the key and the light was flashing really fast waited about 10 secounds, turned the key off hooked the small connector back up and the light was re-set...

How hard is that to do for a non-mechanic like myself?

Not hard to do, you just have to reach under the right-side plastic and pull down the wires and connectors you find up there. The connectors are just stuffed up under the plastic. To start with the two prong conncetor is in the wire that comes from the little rectangular box mounted on the top of the CVT cover (that's the big cover on the right side.

The biggest problem you'll have is trying to release the little plastic clips so you can get the connectors to pull apart. Chances are that after 100 hours you'll have no problem with your belt. And it is probably just the 100 hour timer that has caused the belt warning light to flash. If the belt is the problem, it will probably have activated the swith inside the CVT cover, then that cover will have to removed to check and adjust the belt and reset the switch. If that switch has been activated, you will not be able to reset the flashing light using the procedure above until the CVT cover is removed and the switch has been turned off.
