Default Help with my Mojave

I am new on this site and wanted some help with my 1987 Kawasaki Mojave 250. My dad bought it for me for my birthday. When I got it was running fine, until after a while it started to have white smoke coming out of the muffler pretty bad. Everybody I talked to said it was just burning oil and that it doesn't hurt to run it like it is. Well today it started running bad; it sounded as if it was about to cut off on me. Or like it was starving for gas. But it wasn't, the gas was turned on w/ a full tank of gas. We pulleds the spark plug and cleaned it and it still wouldn't start. Are their any suggestions with what I should do?

I misread your post,It sounds to me ya blew a head gasket,if your oil is milky white it could be that or the water pump seal.I dont know the damage it could range from anything to bent valves ,blown rods an wiped bearing to complete engine failure from all of these.Sounds like time to get amanual an break that mtor down.good luck

I am only 12,so I don't know much about the unit, but what my dad did was only do a spark plug clean. The spark plug was very fouled. we cleaned it very thouroughly. And we also tried to start it by him pushing me in gear and it would barely run then cut off. The guy we bought it from said he would take it apart and find out what it was and fix it.
Also the guy said it could be possible that the combustion chamber is filled w/ oil and won't get a spark.
The color of the smoke was white. It was burning oil so bad that little drips of oil was on the muffler. But everybody I talked to said it was fine to run it like it was.
