I was riding with a friend who just bought the AC650. When we pulled over for a break we were admiring his machine. Right when we were getting ready to leave I notice smoke coming from the rear. I knew from the smoke that something was on fire, he was just about to start riding when I yelled at him to stop. When we removed the junk from between the exhaust and the gas tank the junk instantly caught fire. The stuff was just smoldering on top of the gas tank. Needless to say, if we didn't see that when we did he would not have had his new machine for long. Nor would he be alive if his tank blew up under his ***.

Anyway, just a warning to anyone on the new 650Vtwin's or any other ATV where debris gets between your exhaust and plastics. The prairie's could have this happen as well since they share the same design. Never happened to me but something to consider.

 

funny how that stuff happens, if you were trying to start a fire with grass and a pack of matches it wouldn't go up lol. One more reason to keep a good coat of mud on your machine! (He should go buy a lottery ticket)

 

I'm confused...Is the Exhaust pipe on the AC 650 on the same side as the gas tank? Its on the opposite side of the gas tank on the big prairies.
