Default Need help with Engine Brake Actuator

I've had some problems with my EB Actuator lately . Now it doesn't work at all. I took it appart and tested the motor and gear assembly ; it works perfectly. The problem is in the 'dimmer like' resistor in the actuator that tells the control the position of the actuator handle. I wonder if I can just replace that resistor or do I have to replace the whole actuator. Everything else in the actuator is perfect. Seems a waste of money to have to replace the whole thing. Would appreciate some feedback on this. Thanks.

Mine doesn't work all the time, and I can't figure it out. I'm about to take mine off, anyway, and use a V-force clutch cover.

But if you do that , you will contiuously have that blinking 2wd - 4wd on your display. It's annoying because you never know if you are in 4wd unless you look at the switch on the right handle.

I checked today at the dealer , it was $425 Can. They're nuts if they think I'll pay that for an actuator!!
I can easyly deal with the side effects of no K-EBC on my machine for that price.
I'm familliar with electronic components ; I'll try to find a replacement for this sensor. I'll let you know what I find.
Pretty sure it's a lot less than $425.

I hope you find a solution that enables you to retain the kebc. That kebc has saved my behind in the mountains many times. Much better than braking imo.

Hi!

I'm having the same problem with the actuator. Just wondering if you ever found a source for the variable resistor?

I have not!! I got tired of searching for a resistor to match it and I'm just living with it as is.
