.. Hello- and welcome to the forums. While I'm not a 4x4 person, not yet anyways- I thinking of getting a Bayou 300 4x4, but that's another issue. Not so much the hours on the unit, but what kind of shape is it in. Is the frame beat up and scratched beyound reason- are the dngine cases in one peice? Have you heard it run? Can you take it for a test drive? The main thing is-- how did the precious owner use it. And- do all the indicator lights; such as neutral, reverse work? I hope this helps, I point to the frame and engine cases because a couple weeks ago I got a 97 Lakota, and man- the frame barely had a nick in it and the engine cases- I kid you not, are like showroom fresh. Good luck- and once again, welcome to the forums.........

... Wow- $1000 is a helluva deal! It just may be your lucky day- but say it's not and there is a caveat in there. Ask yourself what's the worst that could happen wit htis- barring any engine gremlins- and how big a deal would that be to fix. I sure have learned alot since I got my mojave 2 1/2 years ago, I've practically torn the thing totally down and rebuilt it from the ground up-- save for the engine, except for adjusting the valves and tearing apart the carburetor.

Lucky day? Warchild very lucky that he's far away from me... I would buy it in a second. These 400 are hard to find. Do a VIN search to make sure you get a clear title. With the P400 you can look at the front left tire and see how much play is in it and compared to the right and that will give you a feeling on how it was handled. There should be a little play but not much. Even still you can afford to drop money in it to fix it right up and sell it and still come out even. That P400 is a solid machine.
