Got the same prob with my 02....Just started bout a month ago
Just fixed the opposite prob...would not start unless it was in neutral.
That was the little black box under the seat just to the left of the fuel sending unit...
I think my dealer called it some kind of safety switch...replaced that and everything
was good to go till this crap started......not a big deal just bothers me....
Any ideas will be appreciated....thanx

Just the other day I adjusted the shift linkage on my 360.. After it was done I noticed that when I put it in N the N light did not come on & would not start without the brake pullled in.. I adjusted it back slightly & now everything is fine.

the neutral starter circuit relay is bad. if you look beside the cdi there is a little black box (which is on the left hand side looking from the rear of the quad).
you can try 2 things.
1. hit it with a screw driver a couple times to see if that fixes it. it has worked for me this way.
2. look inbetween the the 2 cross members of the quad, you will find one that looks exactly the same as the neutral SCR. well its the brake SCR, switch them and see if that works. if that does work then you will be able to start in neutral but not with the brakes. which will tell you that the neutral SCR is bad.
i dont know if its the same on the 360p, never seen one up close.

I switched them...[by the way the brake SCR is only bout a month old]
and everything worked fine...switched them back to their original places
and everything is a-ok.....that tells me it was a bad connection
thanx again
