Maxxis bighorn questions
I've been doing a little research on the Bighorns "sizewise". I found a post where a guy said his 25" Bighorns were actually taller than a buddies 26" Gators. I'm guessing that the Dirt Devils use the same or close to the same carcass as the Gators do and I know the 25" Dirt Devils are shorter than the stock Dunlops. If you go to www. maxxis.com, there is a listing of O.D.s for the radial Bighorns...also the weight of the 25" Bighorns. The 25" Bighorns supposedly are 25" O.D., the 26" are 26.4" O.D. and the 27" are 27.4" O.D. Weightwise, the 25x8x12s are 21.4 lbs. each and the 25x10x12s are 27.1 each, which is about 3 lbs each more than 25" Dirt Devils. You can find most other tire weights listed on ITP's website....www.itptires.com under the Mud-Lite page. I realize O.D. X 3.1416 does not necessarily equate to rolling distance per revolution, but it might give you an idea. I'm thinking of checking my stock Dunlops tonight for rolling distance. I know the rears are around 25" O.D. and the fronts are 24" O.D., but they are both around 11.5" from the ground to the center of the axle.
I was thinking of 26" Dirt Devils, but now am leaning towards 25" radial Bighorns, especially if the 25" Bighorns are taller!
