BF650 comparisson to past models
Having bought a new BF 650 I am having a little trouble figuring out exactly how this one compares to previous models, I rode Suzuki prior to this one so I am not that familiar with it. From what I can tell the new BF 650 is actually identical to the Prarrie 700. The dimensions of the wheel base and width are exactly the same which make it longer and wider than the old prarrie 650. Also the carbs are now the same as the P-700 they are listed as CVKR-D34 from what I read they were Mikuni 32's. There isn't much out there on this but from all angles it seems to actually be a prarrie 700 with 50cc less displacement. Were the air filters in the past different from a P-650 to a P-700.

Well this is what confuses me the new BF650 is listed as follows, Wheel base=50.8, length=86.2, width=46.5. These are the exact same dimensions as the prarrie 700. Now the old 650 has the following dimensions, Wheel base=49.4, length=84.8, width=46. The new BF 650 has a wheel base 1.4" longer than the old 650 and is also .5" wider. All dimensions match the prarrie 700. Here is a link to the comparisson .

Besides the chasis difference they also show that the new BF650 uses the same carb as the 2005 P-700 it is a CVKR-D34 and before it used a different one. I stopped by the dealership here and talked with the head mechanic guy at least he seemed pretty knowledgeable. He tells me the BF 650 and the Prarrie 700 are exactly the same except for the plastic and 50cc bore difference, the 700 just has a different jug.

I wonder if it uses the same cvt setup as the P700, or the belt and specs from the 650...
Its basically a P700, because the front end and a lot of other parts changed from the P650 to the P700.
Thank you for verifying the carbs, I made that statement before when the BF first came out and I was yelled at by 2 members telling me the carbs have always been the same on all models.
Also, the 650 is really only 633cc, where as the 700 is like 698cc, so its a little more than just 50cc difference.
