depends on the motor. was it ever rebuilt? does it smoke at all(especially when its first started)? does it leak oil?
The rest of the bike such as faulty rear brakes, bad looking exhuast, etc... won't cost as much to repair in both time and money as the motor.
With that said and assuming the motor is in decent shape i would have to say $1000-1200 give or take a few $.

PS, they were sold new for $2299 at that price they were to much money. beware the rear axle bearings as well were weak as well the side cover for reverse they all leaked if reverse doesn't work it rusted and locked up inside, this bike was not nice to the consumer if they like mud and water.

I have an 87 Mojave and it runs fine. But the motor was rebuilt. Mine has Dirtdevil tires on it. I have only had minor problems such as a busted chain and had to get new timing chain and clutch. I think it would be worth around $500 through $1000. If you can get it and looks like it is in good shape I would get it. And like the other guy said yes they are good in mud.

you can ride one with a wiped cam but it doesn't hve the power it should and is real fun to start when hot. IF you got a 87/88 Mojave and it's all stock never any motor work done, it better have low miles for the valve are weak very weak, go back in old dirt wheels mags it has stories on them even ask a Kawasaki dealer the mech of course they will tell you that the intake cam was under lubercated and that prewear the cam and the valves were soft.
