CDi box is plug and play, no need to re-jet but it might help get a little more out of the machine. Don't know about the ticking, my engine doesn't make any sounds like that. I have heard of several Brutes having an exhaust leak up where the header pipe meets the exhaust manifold, might want to check that. If you take it back to the dealer, put your old CDI box back in first, the Dyna CDI box voids your engine warranty.

If you notice a miss/surge about 1/8th throttle you may want to have the dealer put the updated needle in the front carb, the ticking may be a slightly loose valve clearance, mine has a slight tick, I think as the motor gets more miles on it they should tighten up, if it gets worse have the valve clearance checked at about 500 miles.........
