them main difference is the trannys......... if you want a five speed the Vinson is THE BEST out there with gears....... if you don't mind a belt then the Prairie 700 is the shiznit! my next ride will be beltless however so it looks like a Vinson or one that isn't made yet.

nothing wrong with the vinnys. they are kick *** quads for sure!!! the prairies tranny requires a bit more maintaince but the trade off is the power. both will wheelie and both (prairie closer than vinny) are bordering on the more power than you can use line for trail riding.

good luck

I ended up going with the '05 Brute Force 650. The price was the main reason since I already spent more than I wanted to. The plastic looks a lot more bad a** on the Brute as well. Hope this thing is as bad a** as it looks! Picking it up on Wed.

Thanks for all your help.

Sounds like the right choice .......your prairie price was way high.
I too also prefer the brute styling and my p 650 has plenty of power. did they give you a plow for the brute ???Kawi was running a $69 deal

Great choice, if I were replacing one of mine thats what it would be. Best motors on the planet for ATV's (IMO).

lewichris,

What's sales tax near you? Eight freakin percent here. Sucks.

Also, what kind of plow did you get? I was going to shoot for $7100 OTD with a 54" Warn plow, but think it'll be more like $7200.

Thanks.
it just went up to 6.5% I got an open country 60" plow. I like the 60 inch.

they wont do that yet, Unless there is a brand new promotion out. I tried to do that and they would not do it cause the BF was too new and cam out in the middle of the promotion. They said they didnt even have the plow mounts out yet. But it uses the p650 plow mounts and winch mounting plate, so you dont have to wait for the aftermarket ones to come out. I was pissed.

I own a P650, but I would reccmmend the Vinson for trails. I've heard they are GREAT for the trails.
The Brute or the P700 would probably plow snow better.
