Default Problems with mojave

Hello, I am having probs with my mojave.... I just bought it , it is a 98 model, and the guy told me the "tap its"?? are what are making the noise... Any help?

he means tappets or in other words lifters.as we know,the mojave doesnt have them as its an ohc motor. you need to adjust the valves on your machine.get a book ,as it helps some. also check the slop on timing chain while you got the lid off! good luck[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

it just has the tapping sound... I don't know where to get a book from... would they carry them at the dealership???

yes. its a good project because your will have to take off plastic and dig into your new quad. its not too bad ,takes me about 1 hour to do.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Default Problems with mojave

Just figured out another problem... My spark plug keeps jumping out... I have the tool to reinstall but it is VERY frustrating... Any help???

say what?jumping out !you didnt force it in crooked and strip the threads did you ?let me know the scoop .both my quads are down now!mojave should be up by monday or so.250r needs the cases split[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

i think i need a new tool... thing looks warped... maybe i am not getting it tightened all the way......

its an 18 mm deep socket.make it snug,but remember ...its not your lug nuts either!! turn in by hand until snug first.dont strip that baby out! please get a manual for the future.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

i had to install a heli coil? 25 bucks... no big deal... 86250rider when are you coming to fix the tappet thingys... i am scared to dig into this motor...
