04 P650 knocking

It does have gas in the oil, very noticable smell on the dipstick. I forgot the compression checker so that's some more info I'll wish I had.
The bid has been made, so we'll find out Monday if a Prairie 650 gets a spot in the barn!
Thanks alot for the info and expect to get bombarded with questions by me after I've burned up the search function.

I've had a whine ever since I got my machine, although it's not really a knocking sound. The Prairies have naturally noisy transmissions I have read due to the square cut gears.
Maybe you don't have a problem at all. I have heard knocking when mine was cold started.....no problems on the trail though. I guess something has to be obviously broke before I worry much about it.

Haha, I'm with you on that one. I'm notorious for running chains way longer than I should on my Raptor. I'll just keep taking links out until I happen to remember I need a chain while I'm surfing Ebay about a month later.
And if you think a Prairie transmission makes alot of noise, you should check out a Grizzly. It will make you think your Prairie sounds as quiet as a sewing machine! Seriously, you can't hear the super quiet exhaust over the belt drive on a Grizzly but they do seem to last forever.
